Half-term cover and new lunchtime classes
Half-term guest instructors and new lunchtime classes
I’m taking Wednesday evening, Thursday and Friday off this week to spend some time with Maeve over half-term. Thank you to the instructors stepping in—and to everyone who has shared feedback after their previous classes.
John will be teaching on Wednesday evening
John has received some lovely feedback about his approach, particularly his Pilates teaching. Several of you have said how much you enjoy his classes and would welcome more opportunities to learn from him.
He brings his own teaching style to Pilates, giving you a different perspective on the movements and another way to connect with exercises you may already know. It’s one of the things I value about having guest instructors: each brings their own experience and approach, and you may find something clicks when it’s taught differently.
I’m pleased he’s returning to cover Wednesday evening, and I hope you enjoy being taught by him again.
Kat will be teaching Thursday morning Circuits
Kat has also had great feedback, particularly about making the class accessible to everyone while bringing a buoyant, approachable teaching style.
That combination is important in a group with different levels of experience and physical needs. Having options, feeling comfortable asking a question and being able to work at your own level all help make a class enjoyable.
Kat brings plenty of encouragement and a welcoming atmosphere, and I’m pleased she’ll be looking after Thursday morning Circuits.
Friday Pilates cover
I haven’t yet secured cover for Friday Pilates, but I’m working on it. I’ll keep you updated once I know whether the class can go ahead.
New lunchtime classes start next week
Our two new lunchtime trials are ready to book:
Thursday Pilates with me, 12:00–12:45pm, starting 5 November. The same approach as my other Pilates classes, fitted into 45 minutes.
Friday Yoga for Nervous System Health with Suzy Bolt, 12:30–1:30pm, starting 6 November. A restorative class offering time to slow down, move gently and relax.
Both will run for an initial four-week trial. If lunchtime fits your week, please come along and give them a try.
Thank you for helping shape the timetable
The questionnaire showed interest in both lunchtime options, alongside support for Strength & Core, Barre and Barbell Strength on Thursday evenings.
I’ll be looking for suitable guest instructors to trial evening sessions during November and December, before deciding what to offer in January. The feedback about John and Kat is a useful reminder of how much the person teaching contributes to the experience—not just the class format.
I’m looking for instructors who bring their own strengths while making people feel welcome, offering useful alternatives and keeping the class enjoyable.
Book through the booking page on my website or your Fit by Wix app. Your attendance and feedback during the lunchtime trials will help decide what continues.
All classes take place at Stanford Avenue Methodist Church, Fiveways, Brighton.
See you in class 🙂
Matthew
